Cumbria goes digital...

Today, Cumbria becomes the first county in England to switch off the analogue broadcast signal and go fully digital. Great for Sky, vendors of digital top boxes and TV retailers. In fact business has been so good for Sky that many households in the county were on a 4 month waiting list to get their new sky installations.

It's odd how sometimes areas that are viewed as rural 'backwaters' can sometimes 'leapfrog' technology advances to get ahead of the game.
